Shopping won't be the only thing to do Saturday at Bonita Lakes Mall the retail center also will host its semiannual Community Day.
The event lets organizations set up displays throughout the mall from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. The groups will provide free information about services they provide to the community.
Groups also are allowed to do fund-raising during Community Day.
First Christian Church's Relay for Life team is one of 15 organizations that will have a booth. Volunteers will sell a T-shirt with a design by Meridian artist Charlie Busler commemorating Relay's 10th year.
The shirts are $20 for one, $15 each for two or more. Busler will be at the event from
10 a.m. to noon to sign the T-shirts.
The First Christian Church also will raffle Busler's original painting featured on the shirt. Tickets are $1 and will be available at the church booth on Saturday and also at the church at 2310 13th St. in Meridian.
All proceeds from the sales of the T-shirt and the raffle will benefit Relay for Life.
Terrence Roberts, a chaplain and assistant volunteer coordinator, with Horizon Hospice is coordinating Horizon's booth.
Bonita Lakes Mall has hosted Community Day twice a year since 1998, the year after the mall opened in October 1997. For more information on Community Day, call 693-3433.
