QUITMAN Services for Spc. Damian L. Heidelberg will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church in Desoto with the Rev. Lannie Nicholson officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in Shubuta with Turner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Spc. Heidelberg, 21, of Shubuta died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003 in Mosul, Iraq. He was in the Army.
Survivors include a daughter, Stacie Campbell; mother, Deborah Heidelberg, both of Shubuta; father, Grady Jones of Waynesboro; sister, Raven Satcher; a brother, Travis Heidelberg; grandmother, Bitha Heidelberg; and grandfather, Oscar Heidelberg, all of Shubuta.
Memorial services for Howard C. Thrash will be held at a later date. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Thrash, 82, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at Beverly Health Care Center in Meridian. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II. He was a member of Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church and retired from the American Can Company after more than 22 years.
Survivors include his sons, Michael Thrash of High Springs, Fla. and Keith Thrash and his wife, Jane, of McCalla, Ala.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Sharp Thrash; sisters, Gladys Jordan and Mary Caudill; brothers, Budney and Warren Thrash; and his parents, A.C. and Kate Thrash.
Memorials may be made to Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. Memorial services for James Douglas Lawyer were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis. A private graveside service and burial was held.
Mr. Lawyer, 80, of Memphis, Tenn., died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, in his home. He was the retired owner of Lawyer Litho Graphics. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Dorothy D. Lawyer; sons, Scott Lawyer, both of Memphis, and Garry Lawyer of Meridian; a daughter, Jennifer, of Memphis; and five grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to The Church Health Center, 1210 Peabody Avenue, Memphis, Tn 38104 or Second Presbyterian Church Psychological Center, 3978 Central Avenue, Memphis, Tn 38111.
PHILADELPHIA Services for Mae Pilgrim were held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Collins officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Neshoba County.
Mrs. Pilgrim, 94, of Keller, Texas, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at IHS of Keller at Mimosa in Keller.
Survivors include her daughters, Faye Moore of Philadelphia, Gwen Forrester of Birmingham, Ala. and Sherry Griffin of Argyle, Texas; sons, Troy Pilgrim and Glen H. Pilgrim, both of Jackson; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dock Driskell and her second husband, J.A. "Jessie" Pilgrim.
Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Willie W. Humphrey, 64, of Meridian, who died Monday, Nov. 24, 2003 at Riley Hospital.
Arrangements were incomplete at Clark's Memorial Funeral Home for Ollie M. Harris, 76, of Meridian, who died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003 at her home.
