special to The Star
A holiday fashion show, guitar music and vocal and dance performances are among the entertainment planned tonight at Bonita Lakes Mall's second annual Night of Giving.
The private, after-hours event is set for 6 p.m.-9 p.m., when the mall is typically closed, and is a benefit for local charities. Eleven groups have sold wristbands to raise money for their respective organizations. Participating charities will keep 100 percent of the money raised from the sale of the wristbands. The groups are expected to have raised more than $5,000 combined.
The holiday fashion show is set for 6 p.m. in the JCPenney Court starring members of the Bonita Lakes Mall Fashion Council. The fashion show will highlight holiday fashions available from nine participating retailers.
Scarlett Monsour will entertain at 7 p.m. at the JCPenney Court. Shoppers can enjoy the acoustic guitar sounds of J.D. Miller from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at Center Court. The Mu Beta Phi Dance Company will perform at 7 p.m. in front of Dillard's, followed by the Lauderdale County Country Dancers.
Anyone who has not purchased a wristband may do so at Customer Service at any time before 9 p.m. tonight. Shoppers must have a wristband to take part in Night of Giving, which will include exclusive discounts, special buys and other great offers from mall retailers. A wristband is also required to register for the door prizes that will be awarded throughout the evening, including a $50 mall gift certificate every 30 minutes.
For more details, including some of the specials available from retailers, visit the mall's site Web at bonitalakesmall.com or call 693-4960.
