Services for Frank William Shults Jr. will be held today at 11 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Russell officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Shults, 75, of Collinsville, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, in his home. He retired from the U.S. Navy after more than 28 years of service. He was a member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church, Oakland Heights Masonic Lodge No. 577 and the Fleet Reserve.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth Ann Shults of Collinsville; daughters, Diane Entrekin and her husband, Paul, of Meridian and Debbie Shults of Collinsville; grandchildren, Emily Entrekin, Elizabeth Entrekin, Angela Maxwell and her husband, Scott, and Eric Entrekin and his wife, Allison; and a great-grandson, Andrew Entrekin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, F.W. Shults and Annie Lou; and a brother.
Memorials may be made to Oakland Heights Baptist Church Building Fund.
Pallbearers will be James Craven, Lynwood Clayton, Joe May, Charlie Smith, Virgil Smith, Milton Pace and Jimmy Robinson.

QUITMAN Services for Cecil Ray Dew will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Faith Assembly of God with the Revs. C.A. Farmer and Troy Dew officiating. Burial will be in Stonewall Cemetery. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Dew, 63, of Stonewall, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Roslyn Dew of Stonewall; sons, Troy Dew and his wife, Pam, of Meridian and Chris Dew and his wife, Kim, of Stonewall; a daughter, Cindy Bonner and her husband, Dudley, of Quitman; a brother, David Dew of Meridian; a sister, Deborah Akins of Quitman; grandchildren, Hunter Bonner and Haley Bonner, both of Quitman, Kris Dew and Kyle Dew, both of Meridian, Brooke Dew, Tori Dew and Brandon Dew, all of Stonewall; his father-in-law, Edd Herrington of Quitman; his mother-in-law, Claudie Aldridge of Stonewall; sisters-in-law, Brenda Dew of Meridian, Doris Floyd of Clarksville, Tenn., and Betty Johnson of Quitman; brothers-in-law, Morris Herrington of Drew and Chuck Floyd of Clarksville; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Odell Dew and Helen Louise Hamrick; and a sister, Donna Dew.

Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the church.

Services for William Stovall "Bill" Smylie III will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Smylie, 69, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, at Heartfelt Hospice in Meridian. He was retired from Smylie and Thompson Insurance Agency. He was a lifelong member of Central United Methodist Church, the Shield's Sunday School Class and served on the church administrative board.
He was a 1952 graduate of Meridian High School and a member of the Wildcat band. He attended the University of Mississippi where he was a member of the Ole Miss band.
Mr. Smylie was a veteran of the U.S. Army and stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of Hamasa Shrine. As a Shriner, he frequently flew burned children to the Shriner's Burn Hospital in Galveston, Texas. He was an Explorer Scout leader, a member of the Mississippi Senior's Golf Association and past president of the Meridian Kiwanis Club.
He was a member of the Meridian Camera Club where he served in many offices including president. He was a past president of the Gulf States Camera Club Council and a member of the Photographic Society of America where he served in many capacities including color slide division chairman. He was chairman of PSA TOPS in Photography. He was a nationally recognized exhibitor in the Photographic Society of America in Color Slides, Nature and Photojournalism, as well as Small Prints. He was recognized in the top 25 exhibitors in the country for several years. He was awarded his fellowship in the PSA in Houston, Texas in 2003.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Janie Warren Smylie; children, Beth Herren and her husband, Mike, of Orland, Calif., Bruce Smylie of Grand Prairie, Texas, Bob Smylie and his wife, Nancy, of Madison and James Smylie and his wife, Letitia, of Sevierville, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; and a sister, Sue Smylie Thompson and her husband, James "Bud," of Meridian.
He was preceded in death by his parents William "Bill" Smylie Jr. and Margaret Gunn Smylie; and a sister, Ethyl Smylie Moran.
Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church Building Fund.
Pallbearers will be Dale Rouse, Joe Warren, Jim Thompson, Russell Thompson, Dean Gebhart, and L.V. Frith.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

QUITMAN Services for John Christopher Gay Jr. will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Grady Crowell and Gene Neal officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Gay, 83, of Quitman, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. He was born on Sept. 13, 1920, on the family plantation near Georgetown, Ga. In 1968, he along with his wife and sons, founded Gay Doors Inc. in Quitman. He worked in the business until his retirement in 1984 when the business was sold.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mildred Saliba Gay; his children, Charlotte G. Johnson and her husband, Doug, of Blanco, Texas, and Chris Gay of Meridian, Susan G. Bosarge and her husband, Ronald of Quitman, and Paul Gay and his wife, Hannah, of Ridgeland; a daughter-in-law, Wanda Gay of Meridian; grandchildren, Deidre Armstrong of London, England; Lance Gay of Meridian, Gabrielle Gay of Collinsville, Ron Bosarge of Meridian, Mark Bosarge of Birmingham, Ala., Daniel Gay, Andrew Gay, Ruth Gay and Stephen Gay, all of Ridgeland; seven great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters; and a grandson, John Christopher Gay IV.

Services for Edna Warrington will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Silas B. Herrington Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Reid Whittington officiating. Burial will be in Cedarhaven Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Warrington, 84, of Meridian, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at R.P. White Nursing Home No. Two.
Visitation will be Friday 30 minutes prior to the service at the chapel.
