A Meridian man charged with robbery and wanted on a bench warrant has eluded law enforcement officers in two counties and should be considered dangerous, according to Maj. Ward Calhoun of the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department.
Darryl Blue, 29, is 5 feet 5 inches tall, and weighs about 145 pounds.
Calhoun said the sheriff's department received a tip early Monday that Blue was in North Meridian, but law enforcement officers could not find him. Calhoun said he received additional information late Monday and Blue was pursued as he drove a stolen vehicle down Highway 39 North into Kemper County.
Calhoun said DeKalb police put spikes in the road to flatten Blue's tires and he wrecked the car and fled on foot. Calhoun said Blue is to be considered dangerous and anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 917-8888.
