Services for Charles Albert Swancey will be held today at 11:30 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Leland Goodman and Richard Cothran officiating. Burial will be in Enterprise Cemetery.
Mr. Swancey, 81, of Enterprise died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a member of the Shriners Provost Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Swancey, of Enterprise; two daughters, Carol Polk, of Gulf Shores, Ala. and Terri Beddingfield, of Meridian; three sons, Danny Swancey, of Enterprise, Charles Wayne Swancey of Albertville, Ala.; and Tommy Swancey, of Section, Ala.; two step-sons, Craig Prince, of Quitman, and Kirk Prince, of Meridian; two step-daughters, Stacey Riley, of Meridian, and Tondra Swain, of Enterprise; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nine step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Nelson Phillips, Kirk Prince, Lamar Moore, Ray Prather, R.C. Gooden and Brett Swain. Honorary pallbearers will be the Shriners and Provost Guard.
Memorials may be made to Shriners Transportation Unit, P.O. Box 365, Meridian, MS 39302.
PENSACOLA, Fla. Services for Teresa Eshee Hebert will be held today at 2 p.m. at Bayview Fisher-Pou Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. James McGaughey and Brian Kinsey officiating. Burial will be in Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Hebert, 49, of Pensacola, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, in her home.
Survivors include her daughter, Nicole Messer of Pensacola; a grandson; a brother, Herman Branning of Meridian; sisters, Beverly Skelton and her husband, Ken, of Collinsville, Sandy Dennison and her husband, Dana, of Pensacola and Mona Dear and her husband, Kenneth, of Meridian; and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald P. Hebert; her parents, Hoyt V. Eshee and Maudine Eshee; a brother, Ronnie Wayne Eshee; a sister, Linda B. Chaney and a nephew, Terry Lee Jr.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
NEWTON Services for Sadie Ruth Walker Bounds will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Curtis Cain officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Bounds, 73, of Newton, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital. She was a member of Newton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen Hamilton and her husband, Fred, of Newton; a son, Billy M. "Bo" Bounds, and his wife, Kaki, of Laurel; four grandchildren, Heather Hamilton Taylor and her husband, Jonathan, Adams Bounds, Lee Bounds, and Lane Bounds, all of Laurel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Wilkins "Billy" Bounds and her parents, Larkin and Nona Weir Walker.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Newton United Methodist Church.
Pallbearers will be Leon Williams, Johnny Coghlan, Alan Hart, Jimmy Hart, Charlie Orr and Buddy Weems.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Munn, Albert Carr, Stafford Bankston, Ross Bounds, Leon Bounds, Giles Bounds and Rodney Bounds.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at funeral home.
Graveside services for Jessie Bridges will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Hickory Grove Church Cemetery with the Rev. Sephus Garrett officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bridges, 39, of Meridian, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, at Heartfelt Hospice.
Survivors include his brothers, Johnny Bridges and his wife, Cassy, of Meridian and David Bridges and his wife, Sabrina; his grandmother, Clara Bridges; a niece, Kristina Bridges, nephews, Troy Nix and Johnny Bridges Jr.; aunts, Barbara Myer, Linda Green, Betty Skipper, Kay Livingston, Ann Reid and Judy Barrett; uncles, Johnny Rae Bridges, Paul Talley, and Billy Talley.
Visitation will be Tuesday 9 a.m.-10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Jo Massey were held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Damascus Free Will Baptist Church with the Revs. Hollis Warren and Johnny James officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Barham Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Massey, 54, of the Damascus Community, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, in Lauderdale County. She was a member of Damascus Free Will Baptist Church, where she was the song leader. She was very active in her community.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Odell "Dick" Massey of Damascus; daughters, Kirstie Miles and her husband, Kevin, of the Shucktown Community, Rita Thomas and her husband, John, and Robin Briggs and her husband, Tony, all of Damascus; brothers, John Thompson and his wife, Jackie, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Paul Thompson and his wife, Margie, and Tony Thompson and his wife, Jimmie, all of Louisville; three grandchildren, Marissa Jo Thomas, Kathy Thomas and Harrison Thomas; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Code and Pauline Thompson; mother-in-law, Syble McKee Massey; two sisters, Kay Haffs and Shirley McMillan.
Pallbearers were Theron Smith, Brian Smith, Bill McMillan, Robert Gibson, Billy Stovall, Rachel Miles, Glenice Briggs and Robert Thomas.
Arrangements were incomplete at Stephens Funeral Home in Union for Lamar Pierce, 89, of Decatur, who died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, at Alliance-Laird Hospital in Union.
