County employee dies in traffic accident

Lauderdale County employee Michael Woodall, 49, of Meehan, was killed Monday when the truck he was driving left the road and struck a tree, according to Maj. Ward Calhoun of the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department.
The accident occurred about 3:30 p.m. on Mt. Carmel Road. Calhoun said the cause of the accident is under investigation.
Deputy Coroner Clayton Cobler said the exact cause of death has not been determined but said Woodall suffered severe head trauma. The body was transported to the Mississippi Mortuary in Pearl for an autopsy.
