Memorial services for J.W. Farrior will be held today at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Farrior, 87, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, at Regency Hospital. His body was donated to medical research. He served as a medic in the U.S. Army during World War II and was in five major battles including the Normandy Beach Invasion and the Arden Forrest Battle. He was a retired engineer from the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. Mr. Farrior was active in politics for many years and was a member of First Baptist Church. At the time of his death, he was helping his daughter support an orphan in Honduras through Evangelistic Missionary Crusades.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Farrior; children, James Farrior and his wife, Teresa, and Rhonda Farrior, all of Meridian, David Farrior of Palm Springs, Calif. and Mark Farrior of Houston, Texas;a granddaughter, Tiffany Britt and her husband,Robert, and great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Kathryn Britt all of Meridian.

NEWTON Graveside services for Clifton Foley Round will be held today at 2 p.m. at Newton County Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Curtis Cain officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Round, 90, of Jackson, formerly of Newton, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, at the Veterans' Nursing Home in Jackson.
Survivors include a brother, Jim Round of Noxapater and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Orene Stephens Round; parents, George Round and Anna Foley Round; a brother, Roy Round and sisters, Annie Laura Bittinger and Ila Kate Nicholson.
Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Services for Ruby H. Chisolm will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Hopewell Methodist Church with the Rev. Rick Pigott officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Methodist Cemetery in Kemper County with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Miss Chisolm, 85, of Meridian, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, at Beverly Health Care. She spent her whole life helping others and was a member of Big Oak Methodist Church.
Survivors include her brother, Cecil Chisolm of Meridian; her sister, Sara Neal of the Damascus community; her special sister-in-law, Betty Chisolm of Meridian; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home and 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.

Graveside services for Viola Harris will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Bodka Valley Cemetery in Electric Mills with the Rev. Frederick Crowell officiating. Berry &Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Harris, 98, of Scooba, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include three daughters, Lee Harris and her husband, John, of Scooba; Marry Watts and her husband, Samuel, of St. Louis,; and Mater McClinton and her husband, Leslie, of Meridian; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be today from 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
UNION Services for Charles H. Leach will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lucern Congregational Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Gene Henderson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Milling Funeral Home of Union in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Leach, 72, of Norcross, Ga., died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003, at the Medical Arts Health and Rehab Center in Lawrenceville, Ga.
Survivors include his wife, Mary French Leach of Norcross; two sons, James Vance Leach of Lawrenceville, Ga.; and Charles H. Leach II of Washington, D.C.; two grandsons, Vance Leach and Daniel Leach, both of Lawrenceville; his brother, Travis Leach of Canton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Joe Thomas, Ed McDonald, Justin Hilderbrand, Randy Lafoy, David Leach and Barry Livingston.
Visitation will be today from 6:30 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Graveside services for Ralph E. Bartel will be held Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bartel, 75, of Meridian, died Thursday at his home. He was a retired Long Tractor dealer and was a member of Lost Gap Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rena Bartel, and his daughter, Rena Elizabeth Adams, both of Meridian; granddaughters, Judy Womack and Lisa Moody; two great-grandchildren, a sister, Irene Henry, and brothers, Wayne Langbartel, Gene Langbartel and Bill Langbartel.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

DEKALB Graveside services for Nellie M. Shultz will be held Saturday at McRae Cemetery at 2 p.m. with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Shultz, 90, of Williamsburg, Va., formerly of DeKalb, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003, in Williamsburg. She was born in DeKalb. She was the fourth daughter of Thomas and Nellie G. McNeill. She was often referred to as a true "southern lady." She will be greatly missed by both family and friends. She was a longtime member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was a member of Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church in Kilmarnock, Va.
Survivors include her son, Richard Shultz of Williamsburg, Va.; a granddaughter, Nancy, of San Francisco; grandsons, Charlie and his wife, Anita, of St. Croix, Virgin Islands and Neil of Kitty Hawk, N.C. and Erin and his wife, Sarah, of Jackson.
Memorials may be made to Saint Andrews Church, P.O. Box 1366, Kilmarnock, VA 22482.
Visitation will be Saturday from noon-1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

DEKALB Services for Stiles Milton Orr will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Hopewell Methodist Church with the Revs. Joey Everett and H.C. Crenshaw officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home of DeKalb in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Orr, 58, of DeKalb, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Orr, of DeKalb; three sons, Mike Orr and his wife, Sharon, of Denver, Colo.; Thomas Orr and his wife, Cherie, of Monroe, La.; and David L. McCoy Jr. and his wife, Brandy, of DeKalb; a daughter, Sarah Pope and her husband, Jody, of Philadelphia; six grandchildren, Michael Orr, Christopher Orr, Sydney Orr, Carly Gensheimer, Devin McCoy and Lauren Pope; and a brother-in-law, James Larkin Fulton and his wife, Jean.
Pallbearers will be law enforcement officers.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home and 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
