Simpson, Luckett

London Autrey Luckett and Joseph Allen Simpson were married in a candlelight ceremony on Saturday, April 26, 2003, in the cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle in Jackson. The Rev. Joh Bohn officiated the double-ring ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. John Michael Luckett of Ridgeland, and Mr. and Mrs. Jesse William Simpson of Meridian.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard O'Lone Luckett, and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas W. Autrey of Jackson.
The bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. William Fred Dyer of Hohenwald, Tenn., and the late Mr. Dyer, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse William Simpson of Walnut.
Nuptial music was provided by Jimmy Scoggins, organist; Alice Biggar, oboist; and Patty Sullivan, vocalist. Meta Poole and Jason Watkins served as scripture readers.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a strapless designer gown of silk chiffon with a biased sheath bodice adorned with pearls featuring a shear side tie back. Her veil of silk illusion was covered in pearls and edged in silk ribbon and anchored by a jeweled tiara.
The bride wore a diamond necklace given to her by the bridegroom. She carried a bouquet was Vendella roses and white freesia collard in double-faced satin with seed pearl embroidery.
Emily Louis Roberts of Atlanta and Courtney Elizabeth Wages of Jackson served as maids of honor. Brandi Luckett Sanders of Tupelo, Kellie Luckett Smith and Whitney Luckett Watkins, both of Jackson, served as matrons of honors.
Other attendants were, Devin Dement Cox of Charleston, S.C., Kindal Lee Jeanes of Jackson, Jacquelyn Elizabeth Kimbrough of West Des Moines, Iowa, Meta Smithson Poole of Oxford, Jessica Renee Simpson of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Mary Herschel McMullan Thames of Memphis, Tenn. Flower girl was Savannah Lauret Sanders.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen were Michael Warren Boerner of Birmingham, Charles William Carruth of Meridian, Judson Wesley Dowling of Atlanta, Christopher Wayne Dyer of Hohenwald, Tenn., James Clayton Green of Meridian, Van Christopher Hollis of Clarksdale, Andrew Scott Johnson of Brandon, Robert Breckenridge Moffett of Atlanta, Seth Warren O'Nan of Starkville, Joseph Patrick Tinsley of Mobile and Ala., Jason Douglas Watkins of Jackson.
Ushers were Andrew Colley Autrey of Hattiesburg, Benjamin Jackson Boteler of Oxford, Leslie Taylor Burwell of Jackson, Brad Alan Glahn of Atlanta and Zachary Brown Luckett of Brandon.
Program attendants were Aileen Hanlon and Liza Steinberg. Elizabeth Autrey and Nicole Dyer served as tea girls.
On the eve of the wedding, the parents of the bridegroom hosted a rehearsal dinner at the University Club in Jackson. Earlier that day, the bridesmaids' luncheon was given by Susan Watkins, Dot Autrey and Linda Healy, and held at The Parker House of Ridgeland.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at The Luckett House, home of the bride.
After a honeymoon in Saint Martin and Saint Barths, the couple resides in Ridgeland, where the bride is the owner of Allen Autrey Properties and the bridegroom is a financial planner with Merrill Lynch.
