William Joseph "Joe" Boardman, 41, of Brandon, died Tuesday at a residence on Goodwater Road in the Whynot community after a tree-cutting accident.
Lauderdale County Deputy Coroner Clayton Cobler said Boardman, who was cutting down a tree with his father, Bobby Boardman of Enterprise, was killed on the scene.
Cobler said the accident happened when a tree the Boardmans cut knocked a dead limb from a nearby tree, which hit Boardman on the head. Cobler said the accident happened about 9:30 a.m.
