Services for Richard Batte McMullan will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Church of the Mediator with the Rev. Mike Dobrosky officiating. Burial will be in Columbarium with Barham Funeral in charge of arrangements.
Mr. McMullan, 59, of Meridian, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, in his home. He was director of Architecture at AES, Ltd. He was a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Meridian Building Codes Board of Appeals, Meridian Mainstreet, Meridian-Lauderdale County Keep America Beautiful Commission, American Institute of Architects and Meridian Chamber of Commerce. He served as chairman of the Meridian Historic Preservation Commission.
He served as a combat engineer platoon leader in the U.S. Army in Europe from 1967-1969.
He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Mediator, where he was a member of the Vestry, past director of Acolytes and the St. Francis Committee.
Survivors include his wife, Judi McMullan of Meridian; a son, Scot McMullan of Starkville; a sister, Shellye McMullan of Jackson; a brother, Bart McMullan of Portland Ore.; and his mother and father-in-law, Mildred and John Kubilis of Brandon.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kristan McMullan.
The family requests memorials be made to Church of the Mediator or the A.L.S. Foundation.
Visitation will be Thursday 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at church parish hall.

Services for D.D. Hawkins were to held today at 10 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Keith Grubbs officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Hawkins, 70, of Meridian, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Hawkins; a daughter, Debbie Miles and her husband, Danny; three sons, Butch Hawkins and his wife, Sue, Kendall Hawkins and his wife, Susan, and Randy Hawkins, all of Meridian; eight granddaughters, Dr. Stephanie Miles, Danielle Miles, Michelle Quigley and her husband, Philip, Angella Hawkins, Jessica Hawkins, Abby Hawkins, Melissa McMurray and her husband, Pete, and Samantha Hawkins; two great-grandchildren, Hannah Kathryn Quigley and Seth McMurray; a brother, Ed Hawkins and his wife, Wilda, of Mobile, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vestra and Marcus Hawkins; two brothers, Raymond Hawkins and Hap Hawkins; and a sister, Viva Davis.
The family requests memorials be made to Midway Baptist Church Building Fund.
Pallbearers will be Alton Parten, Les Carr, J.D. Webb, Jim Thompson, Jack Killen and Terry White.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Midway Baptist Church.

YORK, Ala. Graveside services for William Barney Grant will be held today at 2 p.m. at Cokes Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Craddock officiating. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Grant, 61, of Ward, Ala. died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, in York.
Survivors include wife, Sarah Grant; his mother, Frances Grant; and a son, Wayne Grant, all of Ward; a daughter, Sarah Adcock of Gastonia, N.C.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Harvey Grant.

Graveside for Perry M. Shirley will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Danny Baliant officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Shirley, 62, of Lauderdale County, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He retired from Georgia Pacific after 36 years.
Survivors include his wife, Becky A. Shirley of Whynot; two sons, Jeff Shirley and his wife, Dawn, and Jason Shirley and his wife, Mendi, all of Whynot; his father, Martin Shirley of Meridian; a sister, Elaine Spence of Enterprise; two brothers, Ronald Shirley of Dalewood and Ricky Joe Shirley of Causeyville; and four grandchildren, Kalab, Cody, Dylan and Mason.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Janelle Shirley.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
Visitation will be Thursday 10 a.m.-11 a.m. at the funeral home.

BUTLER, Ala. Services for Gladys Inez Gibson Mozingo will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Camp Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Mozingo, 82, of Butler, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003, at Hill Hospital in York.
Survivors include her sons, Ennis Smith of Stonewall and Odell Smith of Spanish Fort, Ala.; a sister, Sarah Simmons of Mobile, Ala.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodie Mozingo; and a grandson, Ricky Smith.
Visitation will be today 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cheatham, 81, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003, in Olive Branch.
Survivors include two sons, Randy Cheatham of Philadelphia and Dwight Cheatham of Olive Branch; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Ida Jean Hitchcock of Calabasas, Calif.; and a brother, B.J. Clark of Rossville, Ga.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Randolph Cheatham.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
