Thursday will be a very, very good day for the University of Southern Mississippi this football season at least when it comes to television.
The Golden Eagles of USM are scheduled to play on television at least four times this season, with three of those being Thursday night games broadcast by either ESPN or ESPN2.
The most prominent is a Sept. 25 home game with national power the University of Nebraska. That contest is projected to draw a lot of attention to USM and it's Hattiesburg campus, since the 6:30 p.m. ESPN game will be played at M.M. Roberts Stadium.
The first televised game of the year for the Golden Eagles will be their Conference-USA opener at Legion Field against host University of Alabama-Birmingham on Thursday, Sept. 4. The game will be on ESPN2 with a 6 p.m. kickoff.
Southern Miss has an ESPN game against TCU in Hattiesburg set for Thursday, Nov. 20 at 6:30 p.m. The Horned Frogs were picked to win C-USA during the league's media days, while USM was chosen to finish second.
The other game already scheduled to be aired is the Saturday, Nov. 15 game at M.M. Roberts Stadium against arch-rival Tulane. The 2 p.m. contest is set for ESPN Plus.
