    QUITMAN Services for Retha Sue Arrington will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Melvin Boles officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
    Mrs. Arrington, 68, of Quitman, died Sunday, July 13, 2003, at Riley Hospital.
    Survivors include her daughter, Anita Lee of Meridian; a brother, Talmadge Headrick of Quitman; a sister, Erla Smith of West Covina, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
    Visitation will be today after 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

    DOTHAN, Ala. Services for William Robert "Bill" Thompson Jr. will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Van Gauthe officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
    Mr. Thompson, 78, of Dothan, died Sunday, July 13, 2003, at Flowers Hospital. He was born Feb. 7, 1925, in Meridian, where he lived the early years of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II and Korean War.
    Mr. Thompson retired from the insurance business with National Security in Elba. At the time of his retirement in 1988, he was serving as vice president. Mr. Thompson resided in Elba for 30 years and served as a deacon at First Baptist Church before moving to Dothan in 2000.
    He was a member of the Enterprise Ball Room Dance Club, Elba Lions Club and Calvary Baptist Church.
    Survivors include his wife, June Thompson of Dothan; sons, Gary Wayne Thompson and his wife, Dianne, Glenn Alan Thompson and his wife, Marilyn, of Tallahassee, Fla., and Gregory Keith Thompson of Montgomery, Ala.; six grandchildren, Keith Thompson and his wife, Ashleigh, Christopher Thompson, Emily Thompson, Allison Thompson, Kevin Thompson and Kyle Thompson; a sister, Lois Vance of Meridian; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, William Robert Thompson Sr. and Nettie Mae Whitehead Thompson; two sisters, Mildred Evans and Louine Williams.
    Visitation will be today 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    Psychiatrist
    Memorial services for Dr. William Hines Colbert Dudley Jr. will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m. at The Church of the Mediator in Meridian. Mark Seepe Funeral Home and Crematorium of Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
    Dr. Dudley, 75, died Saturday, July 12, at Riley Hospital. He was under the care of hospital staff and Hometown Hospice.
    The son of William H.C. Dudley Sr. and Emmett Mize Dudley, he was born in Jackson on April 8, 1928.
    He was a graduate of Mississippi College and Tulane University of Louisiana School of Medicine, where he was a member of Alpha Kappa Kappa Medical fraternity. His general medical internship was at Crawford W. Long Memorial Hospital, Emory University, Atlanta, Ga.
    His psychiatric residency was at Mississippi State Hospital in Whitfield and Norton Psychiatric Clinic, University of Louisville, Ky., where he served as chief resident; Louisville Veterans Administration and Louisville Child Guidance Clinic.
    Dr. Dudley served in the Mississippi National Guard from 1947-49. He was a captain in the U.S. Air Force, where he served as general medical officer from 1954-56.
    Dr. Dudley's medical service to the state of Mississippi included family practice in Pearl, where he was the first physician in that community; staff of Mississippi State Hospital, where he served as chef of male and female receiving and first hospital director of training for psychiatric residents; and the University School of Medicine, where he was assistant professor of psychiatry.
    In 1976, following his 13-year teaching career, he entered private practice of psychiatry in Meridian, also serving as senior psychiatric consultant at East Mississippi State Hospital.
    Until his death, Dr. Dudley continued his service to Mississippi, the state for which he held lifelong affection and devotion.
    As a staff psychiatrist at East Mississippi State Hospital he was chief of acute male service. He worked as a psychiatric consultant at Wackenhut East Mississippi Correctional Facility. He was facilitator of the Meridian Caduceus Chapter and served as State Caduceus Club president from 2000-01. He also served as a member of the Mississippi Impaired Physicians Committee.
    In addition to his professional life, Dr. Dudley found pleasure in cooking, working in his yard and following world events. His interest in life was vital and he felt "Proud to be living in such exciting times."
    Survivors include his wife, Penelope Owen Dudley; children, Patricia Dudley Gamblin, William Harvey Dudley, Amy Dudley Stephens and John Colbert Dudley; and the mother of his children, Blanche Harvey Dudley; step-sons, Allen Reid and Aubert Randall Kimbrell; grandsons, Robert Keith and John Harvey Stephens; and step-grandsons, Addison Reid and Avery Ryan Kimbrell.
    The family request memorials be made to Friends of East Mississippi State Hospital, P.O. Box 4128, West Station, Meridian, MS 39304.
    Visitation will be Tuesday 4 p.m.-6 p.m. at the church.
    Arrangements were incomplete at Barham Funeral Home for Ruben Posey, 78, of Meridian, who died Sunday, July 13, 2003, at Guardian Angel Hospice.
    Arrangements were incomplete at Wright's Funeral Home of Quitman for Sally Tew, of Quitman, who died Monday, July 14, 2003, at H.C. Watkins Hospital.
