Pharis L. Davis, 31, of 100 29th Ave., remained in the Lauderdale County Jail today after being booked Wednesday evening on charges of drive-by shooting and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Bond for the two charges totals $25,000.
Sgt. Randy Jackson of the Meridian Police Department said the suspect allegedly fired at least six rounds at a residence in the area of 16th Street and 25th Ave., at about 12:15 p.m. Wednesday.
No one was hurt in the attack. Jackson said people were in the house at the time of the shooting but they took cover.
Police recovered shell casings at the scene and an assault rifle at Davis' home. Jackson said no other arrests are expected and the shooting is still under investigation.
