Voting for People's Choice Awards soon to end at MMA

The Meridian Museum of Art will host a reception from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. July 12 honoring the winners of the 12th annual People's Choice Art Competition. The naming of the winners will be at 7 p.m.
The competition gives museum visitors a chance to choose award winners in a variety of media categories, as well as Best in Show.
This year's event features nearly 200 works of art by artists from throughout the Southeast. Works will include everything from acrylics and ceramics to oil painting and photographs.
It's not to late to cast your vote. Ballots are $1, and visitors can vote in several categories, including the best acrylics, black and white photographs, drawing/prints and mixed media.
Voting ends July 11 at 5 p.m. The museum is at 628 25th Ave. Admission is free. For more information, call 693-1501 or e-mail: MeridianMuseum@aol.com.
