Smith, Norris

Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Smith of Brookhaven announce the engagement of their daughter, Carrie Brookes, to Sellers Stephen Norris, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sellers B. Norris of Hattiesburg.
The wedding will be Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003, at 4 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Brookhaven.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Vernon and Ann Smith, and the late R.E. and Eileen Smith, all of Brookhaven.
She is a 1998 honor graduate of Brookhaven Academy and received a degree in child and family studies from the University of Southern Mississippi in May.
While at USM, she was a member of Kappa Omicron Nu and Gamma Beta Pahi Honor societies.
Mr. Norris is the grandson of the late Sellers and Grace Norris of Mize, and Hautense Jones of Sebastopol and the late Howard Jones.
The bridegroom-elect is a 1998 graduate of Oak Grove High School and was enrolled at the University of Southern Mississippi when he became activated with the military.
While at USM, he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.
He is currently a staff sergeant in the Air National Guard and recently served on two deployments, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Family and friends are invited to attend.
