25th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Roger W. Welborn celebrated their 25th anniversary on June 13, 2003. They were childhood sweethearts and married on June 13, 1978. Roger recently retired as a captain with the Meridian Police Department and is currently employed with Naval Air Station Meridian Police Department. Helen is a homemaker and the former Helen R. Hamilton. They have four children, Wayne, Shelia, Kimberly and J.D. Welborn.
50th anniversary
Douglas and Evelyn Pugh celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their children and grandchildren at a dinner held at Red Lobster in Meridian on May 19. The couple was married May 19, 1953, in Quitman. They have four children, 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
