Retired seamstress
Services for Wilma Terry Flanagan will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Allen S. Dearing officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Flanagan, 91, of Kemper County, died Wednesday, June 25, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was an active member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and a long-time seamstress at The Vogue in Meridian.
Survivors include her son, Roland H. Flanagan Sr. and his wife, Martha, of Brandon; sisters, Elizabeth Terry McKeithen and Clara Eloise Terry, both of Meridian, and Hazel Evelyn Terry of Bailey; a brother, the Rev. Wallace R. Terry Jr. and his wife, Apphia, of Bailey; grandsons, Roland H. Flanagan Jr. and his wife, Angelica, of Pearl and Robert W. Flanagan and his wife, Rae, of Byram; five great-grandchildren, Cierra A. Flanagan, Jessica S. Flanagan, Justin W. Flanagan, Christopher W. Flanagan and Kelli Rae Flanagan; sisters-in-law, Jane Terry of Meridian and Zelda Terry of Bailey; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther A. Flanagan; a great-grandson, Roland H. Flanagan III; a sister, Bonnie Ethridge; three brothers, Milton Terry, James Terry and A.C. Terry.
Memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
Pallbearers will be Roland H. Flanagan Jr., Robert W. Flanagan, Justin W. Flanagan, Christopher W. Flanagan, Albert Strange and Danny Ethridge.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Clay, Cierra A. Flanagan, Jessica S. Flanagan and Kelli Rae Flanagan.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home and 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
Retired Chiropractor
BUTLER, Ala. Services for Dr. Thomas Angelo Davis will be held today at 3 p.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. James Havens and Titus White officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Dr. Davis, 74, of Butler, died Wednesday, June 25, 2003, at Willow Trace Nursing Center.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Davis; a son, Al Davis; and daughters, Palmer Davis Turner, all of Butler, Toni David Jackson, of Meridian, Miss.; a brother, Paul Davis of Madison and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Retired machinist
QUITMAN Services for Horace Grady Covington will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Buddy Braddock officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Quitman.
Mr. Covington, 70, of Shubuta, died Wednesday, June 25, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his brothers, James R. Covington of Union, William R. Covington of Shubuta, John W.Covington of Union and George E. Covington of Meridian; sisters, Florence Russell of Jackson, Tenn. and Dorothy Coulter of Hattiesburg.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Lillian Griggs will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at New Prospect Baptist Church, with the Rev. Eddie B. Cryer officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery with Clark's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Griggs, 77, of Meridian died Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was retired.
Survivors include three sisters, Willie Mae Jones and Minnie Lee Fitch, both of Meridian, and Jessie DuBose of Goodman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillie Maude and Kaga Fitch; and her husband Perry.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to the service.
SEBASTOPOL Services for Marjorie Evans will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Reid's Chapel Church of God, with the Revs. Britt Cooper and H.L. Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Milling Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Evans, 74, of Conehatta, died Thursday, June 26, 2003 at her residence. She worked full-time in the christian ministry in Conehatta.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. Hulon Evans of Conehatta; three sisters, Mary Magdalene Shaw of Conehatta, Bobbie G. Tarvin of Lake; and Shirley Comans of Sebastopol; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Myrtle Shaw.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
