Jarrett, Dodson

Emily Tanner Dodson and Robert Wylie Jarrett Jr., both of Memphis, Tenn., were married Saturday, June 14, 2003, at First Presbyterian Church in Shreveport, La., with the Revs. Claude Wilson-Slayton and Margaret Wilson-Slayton officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Frank Marshall Wilkes Dodson of Shreveport, and Dr. and Mrs. Robert Wylie Jarrett Sr. of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bride Mrs. Robert W. Dodson of Shreveport and the late Mr. Dodson, and Mrs. James R. Yongue of Shreveport and the late Mr. Yongue.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are the late Mr. and Mrs. Ralph H. Jarrett of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Emmett W. Dunn of Mobile, Ala.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Holly Watson, organist; and Dick Watson, trumpeter.
The bride was presented in marriage by her father. She wore a designer gown of ivory silk twill which featured a strapless bodice accented by ribbon embroidery and seed pearls. The skirt swept into a chapel-length train.
Catherine W. Dodson of Shreveport, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Matron of honor was Laura B. Edgerton of Raleigh, N.C.
Other attendants were Allison L. Alderson of Nashville, Tenn., Florence S. Butts of Knoxville, Tenn., Mary Allison B. Cates of Memphis, Carol G. Curry of Los Angeles, Kelly Jarrett of Meridian and Torre Stewart of Durham, N.C.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man.
Groomsmen and ushers were Andy Cates of Memphis, Scot Gibson of Davis, Calif., Mark Jones of New York, N.Y., Bill Jordan of Alexandria, Va., Dr. Don Price of Cincinnati, Dr. Alan Savell of Goldsboro, N.C., and Simon Wong of London, England.
A reception was held at the Scottish Rite Temple of Shreveport following the ceremony.
After a honeymoon in Nantucket, Mass., the couple resides in Memphis.
