UNION Services for Golden Grace Cater will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church, with the Revs. Ron Gilstrap, Tim Fanguy and Allen Gibson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Cater, 101, of Conehatta, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at The Specialty Hospital of Meridian. She was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sister, Claudie Mae Loper of Brandon; a great-niece, Ann Munn of Newton; and several nieces, nephews, and loving and devoted care givers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lovett Cater.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Newton and 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.

UNION Services for Janie Denson Shumake will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Conehatta Mission Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Milling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Shumake, 71, of Conehatta, died Monday, June 16, 2003, in Conehatta.
Survivors include her daughters, Pearlie Thomas of Heidelberg, Anita Anderson and Eleanor Chickaway, both of Conehatta, and Norma Thompson of Philadelphia; a son, Genis Charles Shumake of Philadelphia; sisters, Jeffery Solomon of Philadelphia, Lolee Anderson, Odie Anderson and Dorothy Chapman, all of Conehatta; 37 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben Shumake.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Charles Farrell Stokes will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Revs. Gerald Gammill and Buddy Carroll officiating. Burial will be in Coy Methodist Church Cemetery in Neshoba County.
Mr. Stokes, 71, of Louisville, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Winston Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Janette Stokes of Louisville; daughters, Michelle Register of Rockwood, Tenn., Melissa Pritchett of Louisville and Becky Ellis of Philadelphia; sons, Ricky Barfoot and Chuck Barfoot, both of Philadelphia, and Johnny Stokes of Louisville; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

UNION Services for Sarah Euel Barrier will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Dr. Marcus Finch and Mark Giles officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
Mrs. Barrier, 100, of Union, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, in Union. She attended Mississippi Women's College and was the former city clerk of Philadelphia. She owned Western Auto Store in Union for 19 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Nan Stamper of Philadelphia; a son, Charles Fincher Barrier of Union; grandsons, Kenneth Ray Stamper of Apex, N.C., Kevin Barrier Stamper of Philadelphia and James Craig Stamper of Decatur; great-grandchildren, Tess Stamper, Rebecca Euel Stamper, Matt Stamper, Miles Stamper and Eli Stamper.
Pallbearers will be Ken Stamper, Kevin Stamper, Craig Stamper, Matt Stamper, Joe Dollar and Joe Cleveland.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Graveside services for Braedyn Barrett were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Russell officiating. Stephens Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Infant Barrett, 6 days old, died Monday, June 16, 2003, in Jackson.
Survivors include his parents, Eric and Jennifer Barrett; a brother, Daniel Phelps; sisters, Breanna Clerlik and Emily Barrett, all of Collinsville; his maternal grandfather, Danny Ray Moulds of the Zero Community; his maternal grandmother, Mary Spivey of Michigan; and his paternal grandparents, Buster and Patty Barrett of Newton.
Memorial services for Mary Gwendolyn "Gwen" Wells Kinmon will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Mississippi City United Methodist Church, 219 Court House Road, in Gulfport.
Ms. Kinmon, 70, died Monday, June 16, 2003, at a retirement home in Tucson, Ariz.
Arrangements were incomplete at Barham Funeral Home for Chester McWhorter, 76, of Decatur, who died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
