50th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Alan E. Sleppy will celebrate their 50th anniversary on Thursday, June 12, 2003, with a dinner party held in their son's home in the Blackwater community. Al and JoAnn were married on June 12, 1953 in Wilkinsburg, Pa. They have two sons, Rich Sleppy and his wife, Susan, and David Sleppy and his wife, Patty McGill, of Atlanta; and two grandchildren, Joe and Rose Sleppy of Atlanta. The dinner will be hosted by their sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren. Family and friends from Mississippi, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Colorado and Oregon are expected to attend.
50th anniversary
Vernon "Lefty" and Mary Belle Rawlings recently celebrated their 50th anniversary at the home of their son. The Rawlings were married June 5, 1953, at First Baptist Church in Meridian. They have four children and six grandchildren.
