Let there be arts

At some point in the future, let's say after $50 million or so is raised, Meridian may well be home to a first-class arts and entertainment center. It would be a welcome piece of recognition in a state that has surely has produced more artists and entertainers per capita than any other state.
To be sure, the Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Center is an ambitious project and, to be sure, it must attract a great deal of private investment if it is to become a reality. But it is a project worth pursuing and we applaud the efforts of all across the state who are working to make this dream come true for Mississippi.
