It's back.
The Meridian Museum of Art's most popular exhibit the 12th Annual People's Choice Art Competition returns with a vengeance.
The opening reception and voting kick-off will be from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. on Saturday at the downtown museum. The event is free and open to the public.
The People's Choice gives museum visitors a chance to choose award winners in a variety of media categories, as well as Best in Show.
This year's event features nearly 200 works of art by artists from throughout the Southeast. Works will include everything from acrylics and ceramics to oil paintings and photographs.
Judges in the competition will be museum visitors.
For $1, each person may cast one ballot during the competition. Visitors can vote in several categories, including the best acrylics, black and white photographs, drawings/prints and mixed media.
They also can vote for their pick of Best of Show.
Voting will continue through 5 p.m. July 11. Award winners will be announced at the awards reception on July 12.
