Hart's Eagles finish 7th in nation

The MCC golf team wrapped up their golf season last week, finishing seventh out of 19 teams at the National Junior and Community College Golf Tournament, played at Palm Valley Golf Course in Phoenix, Arizona.
MCC golf coach Lou Hart said the 2003 season was successful, as the Eagles won seven of 13 tournaments they played in.
Hart said the next season could be a rebuilding year.
Two MCC golfers are headed to play Division I golf. Daniel Boles, a Clarkdale graduate, signed to play at Mississippi State. Mac Lee will hit the links at Middle Tennessee State.
While losing some good golfers, Hart said the future is bright.
Powell led Lamar to the Mississippi Private School Association's Academy Overall State Championship last month at Northwood Country Club.
Hart said one of the most rewarding aspects about being golf coach is not about winning tournaments.
Hart is known around Mississippi as a dominant female player, winning the Mississippi Women's Amateur a record nine times. Now at 50, Hart said she still loves the game of golf.
Hart was also highly supportive of Annika Sorenstam's bid to play on the PGA Tour two weeks ago at the Colonial golf tournament in Dallas.
