Meridian High hands out athletic awards

Great athletes make up successful athletic programs, and Meridian High has one of the best athletic programs around.
Multiple winning records, championships, great coaching that helps in getting athletes to Division I programs, only begins to describe the Meridian High athletic program and its success in all sports.
Meridian High held its annual spring athletic banquet Monday, with numerous athletes honored.
Sports honored were: boys and girls track, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls soccer, powerlifting, fastpitch softball, tennis, golf, and baseball.
New Alcorn St. Head basketball coach Samuel West was the guest speaker.
West replaces a legend at Alcorn St., Dave Whitney.
