Field tightens at Ed Lewis Tourney

Judge Little and Scott Morgan kept their lead in the second round of the Ed Lewis Memorial Day Tournament at Northwood Country Club, but several teams have made sure today's final round won't be a stroll in the park.
Little and Morgan, the four-time defending tournament champions, turned in a 64 in Sunday's select format, matching their 64 from Saturday's four-ball format.
Jimmy Carle, who teamed with Little to win the 1998 event, and 2003 partner John Dement fired a day's best 60 Sunday to close to within a single stroke of the lead.
Little and Morgan enter today's alternate shot format at 14-under par 128, while Carle and Dement are one stroke back at 129.
Also knocking on the door are three teams tied at 131. That group includes Billy McWilliams and Bilbo Mitchell, John Lang and Chuck Rea, and Jimbo Green and John Rea.
Four strokes off the pace at 132 are the teams of Justin Catlett and Tony Polizzi and Alan Hart and Johnny Love.
"We had some real good scores today in the scramble format," Northwood pro Jimmy Gamblin said. "The round of John Dement and Jimmy Carle was just really good.
"Monday we go to the alternate shot and that is the real check of your friendship. In all the flights except the championship flight, we'll be letting two people hit off the tee. In the championship flight, we'll start at No. 1 with one person being selected to hit for each team and then they'll alternate shots.
"For the championship division, it is probably the hardest way to play golf that there is.
"The golf course is playing good right now. If we get the rain, I would say it would play a little bit into Scott and Judge's hand, but Jimmy Carle is extremely long.
"We've got some other teams in the championship flight that you can't count out because in the alternate shot, around par is a good score. If somebody was to come up and shoot three or four under par, they could very easily move right by and be at the top."
Carle and Dement began their day on No. 13 and had birdies on Nos. 13, 16, 17, 18, 1, 3, 6, 7, 10, 11, and 12 to finish the day with an 11-under round and close to within a stroke of the lead.
Little and Morgan began on No. 2 and had birdies on Nos. 3, 6, 10, 12, and 13 to go with an eagle on No. 16, a 489-yard par-5, to maintain their slim lead.
McWilliams and Mitchell used a 7-under 64 to get to within three strokes of the lead.
Lang and Chuck Rea fired a 9-under 62 Sunday to join the three-way tie at 131. They began on No. 13 and had birdies on Nos. 13, 14, 16, 17, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10.
Also in the three-way logjam at 131 are Green and John Rea after a 64 in the second round.
Hart and Love fired a 62 Sunday to remain in striking range four strokes back. They opened on No. 8 and had birdies on Nos. 8, 12, 14, 15, 17, 18, and 3 to go with an eagle on No. 16.
Tied with Hart and Love at 132 are Catlett and Polizzi after their second round 64.
Tied at 133 are the teams of Larry Love and David Ray and Mac Barnes and Paul Entrekin. Love and Ray had a 63 Sunday, while Barnes and Entrekin had a 64.
Completing the championship flight at 134 are the teams of Austin Holmes and Winston Powell, Marc Fisher and Derrick Smith, and Bubba Hannah and Andy Lucovich.
