Ideal Software Systems plans to move Friday into the Great River Insurance Co. building at 4909 Great River Drive in North Meridian.
David Goldman, owner and president of Ideal Software Systems, said the move will allow his company to continue to grow.
Goldman, 39, a Meridian native, began his company in 1985 while still at the University of Texas where he earned a degree in electrical and computer engineering. Ideal Software designs computer software for specialized businesses.
Goldman brought the company to Meridian in 1986. In 1995, he moved the company and its 16 employees into the Union Planters building on 22nd Avenue. He also started Ideal Solutions, a sister company that provides computer systems, installation and technical service.
Goldman said he now employs about 60 people, 90 percent of whom work in Meridian. Ideal Software's products are marketed in 48 states and eight foreign countries.
Jeffrey Carver is branch manager of the Union Standard Insurance Group, which merged with Great River Insurance Co. in 1999. Union Standard sold the building to Ideal Software.
Carver said his company is leasing back about a third of the building's 30,000 square feet.
Goldman and his wife, Amy, have three children, Heather, David Jr., and Alex.
