Boys and Girls Clubs host benefit basketball game

The Boys and Girls Clubs of East Mississippi will host a basketball showdown on Tuesday between The Harlem Entertainers and local teams.
The game will be played in the Ivy Sports Center at Meridian Community College. A pregame show starts at 6:15 p.m. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
Patricia Flowers, director of development for the Boys and Girls Clubs, said money raised from the game will help benefit the organization's summer programs in Lauderdale and Clarke counties.
Advance tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children, or $10 for adults, $7 for children at the door. Advance tickets can be purchased at local Boys and Girls Clubs units or from board members of the organization.
A team made up of employees from television station WTOK will play the first quarter, followed by a team of children from Boys and Girls Club for the second quarter. The third quarter will be played by a team from Enterprise called The Enterprise Old-timers and the fourth quarter will be handled by a team of local ministers.
Pregame entertainment will include performances from The Wesley Bells and Chuckles The Clown. Half-time entertainment will include a slam dunk contest and a performance by the Young People of Praise singing group.
