Susan Hart said her father and former Meridian city councilman Norvin M. Wilson always will be fondly remembered.
Wilson, 82, died Sunday at Regency Hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Meridian, followed by burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Wilson served on the Meridian City Council from July 1981 until June 1993, serving as president from July 1989 until June 1990. He represented Ward 2. Wilson also owned a home construction company.
Meridian Councilman Mary Perry of Ward 2 said she didn't know Wilson well. But her uncle, Clayvorn Miller, worked for Wilson's construction company and considered Wilson to be a friend as well as his boss.
Pam McInnis, clerk of the city council, said many improvements were made to the city of Meridian during the time Wilson served.
Wilson was born in the Obadiah Community on May 6, 1920. He was a graduate of Centerhill High School in 1938 and attended then, Meridian Junior College for a year.
