COLUMBUS, Ga. Services for Thomas Lindell Snowden will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Stiffler-Hamby Mortuary Macon Road Chapel with the Rev. Mitchell Smith officiating. Burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery.
Mr. Snowden, 82, of Columbus, died Saturday, March, 22, 2003, at the Columbus Hospice House. He was born in Meridian, Miss., on April 14, 1920, son of the late J.W. Snowden and Elizabeth Moore Snowden.
Mr. Snowden retired from the U.S. Army after 23 years of service and served in World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Helen R. Snowden, his daughter, Sandra K. Kuntz and her husband, Michael, all of Columbus; grandchildren, Jeffrey Kuntz and his wife, Amy of Cataula, Ga.; and Brian Kuntz of Atlanta; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Kuntz and Trenton Kuntz, both of Cataula.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Elton Snowden and Wilbur Snowden, and a sister, Mazelle White.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Liberty Baptist Church, and his two grandsons, Jeffrey Kuntz and Brian Kuntz.
VERNON, Ala. Services for George Kenneth Carpenter will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Chandler Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Devine officiating. Burial will be held in Pleasant Grove United Methodist.
Mr. Carpenter, 70, of Vernon, died Saturday, March 22, 2003, at his home.
Survivors include his daughters, Brenda Faye Gilmore of Amory, Miss.; Eva Maleese Allen of Gulfport, Miss.; Karen Leigh Carpenter of Vernon; and Judy Ann Hammond of Peachtree City, Ga.; a brother, Arthur Lamar Carpenter Jr. of Meridian; sisters, Sara Evelyn Brobeck of Jonesborough, Tenn.; and Ruth Francis Lackey of Meridian; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian Carpenter, his father, Arthur Lamar Carpenter Sr., and his mother, Sara Elizabeth.
Visitation will be Monday from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

NEWTON Services for Julia Frances Dunagin England will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Newton with the Rev. Dr. Leroy Brewer officiating. Burial will be in Newton Masonic Cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. England, 79, of Newton, died Friday March 21, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Thelma Schull, Frances England and Barbara Hughes, all of Manassas, Va.; Janice Mills of Newton; and Vivan Stewart of Philliti, W. Va.; three sons, Hugh England of Orleans, Fla.; Johnny England and Tommy England, both of Manassas; a sister, Janie Lorene Knight of Franklin, N.C.; two brothers, George Dunagin of Jackson; and Barto Dunagin of Weatherfield, Vt.; 25 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. England, her parents, John A. and Hattie Thomas England, a sister, Elizabeth McCarty and a brother, James A. Dunagin.
Pallbearers will be Mark Schull, Charlie Hughes, John Hughes, Timmy Munn, Nick Mills, Bill Tucker and Chris Palome'.
Visitation will be Monday from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services for Chrystal Owens will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Pearlie Grove Baptist Church in Quitman with the Rev. J. Hopson officiating. Burial will be in Archusa Memorial Cemetery with Berry &Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Owens, 70, of Quitman, died Thursday, March 20, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband, Henry Owens of Quitman; two daughters, Brenda Jordan and Vickie Anderson, both of Chicago; a son, Raymond Jordan Jr. of Atlanta; and five sisters, Mary A. McCree, Juanita Emily, Bonita Brand and Sherlene Collier, all of St. Paul; and Jackie Coleman of Mobile, Ala.; seven brothers, Printes Sumrall of Houston, Texas; James A. Sumrall, Lonnie V. Sumrall, Charles E. Sumrall and Randall M. Sumrall, all of Quitman; Richard R. Sumrall of Atlanta; and John O. Sumrall of Oakland, Calif.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held Monday from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

DEKALB Services for Narvell J. Lampley will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Bluff Springs Baptist Church in Preston with the Rev. Melvin Coleman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lampley, 90, of Preston, died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at Mississippi Care Center of DeKalb.
Survivors include three sons, Leonard Lampley of Birmingham, Ala.; Lamon Lampley of Preston; and Mitchell Lampley of Coverington, Ga.; two daughters, Lodie Kirkpatrick and Gerlean Eanes, both of Cleveland, Ohio; 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, a sister, Catherine Turner and her husband, Lamar, of Cleveland; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two children.
Visitation will be held Monday from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
