WALTER EVAN HITCHCOCK JR.

QUITMAN Services for Walter Evan Hitchcock Jr. will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Dale Eakes and Jerry Griffin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hitchcock, 58, of Quitman, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his sons, Sam Hitchcock of Florida, Donnie Hitchcock of Alabama and Bobby Hitchcock of Ohio; daughters, Sandy Hitchcock of Chicago and Virginia Hitchcock, of Ohio; sisters, Rose Rogers of Stonewall, Linda Thomasee and Pat Moseley, both of Quitman and Marilyn Wright of Texas; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.- 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

WAYNESBORO Graveside services for Laura Dill Shirley will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Irby officiating. Freeman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Shirley, 89, of Marion, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at Guardian Angel Hospice in Marion.
Survivors include her step-son, Arthur Shirley of Grants Pass, Ore.; nieces, Susie Shirley and her husband, Leon, Agnes Carr all of Shubuta, Doris Bryant of Linden, Ala., S.I. Ezell of Grand Bay, Ala. and Ermalee Reeder of Meridian; a nephew, Hubert Cunningham and his wife, Janet, of Shubuta; and several other relatives.

Graveside services for Florence Jones Shirley will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at Long Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Bob Barker officiating.
Mrs. Shirley, 87, of Meridian, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Peggy Joyce Johnson and her husband Gray, of Meridian; three grandchildren, Cathy Moran and her husband, Charlie, of Walker, La., Dianne Kitchens and her husband, Don, of Plano, Texas and Larry Johnson of Newton; four great-grandchildren, Brandon Eubanks, Daniel and David Kitchens and Kyle Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert H. Shirley; her parents, Harvey and Flora Jones.
Pallbearers will be in Jack Jackson, Jim Cochran, Roger Shirley, Michael Shirley, Buddy Shirley, Paul J. Shirley and Robert Earl Shirley, Robert Donald Kittrell, Robert Broadhead, Jimmy Harrison, and Roy Ratcliff.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial services for Jewel Martin Yelverton will be held at a later date. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Yelverton, 92, of Meridian, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at Guardian Angel Health Care. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Meridian.
Survivors include her brothers, Don Stanley Martin of Dalewood and Norman C. Martin of Long Beach, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
VIRGIE LEE MOORE

Graveside services for Virgie Lee Moore were held Sept. 15, 2002, at New Hope Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Riley officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Moore, 72, of Meridian, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2002, at Heartfelt Hospice. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. and served in the Korean War, where he earned the Korean Service Medal, a Presidential Unit Citation, a United Nations Medal and received the Purple Heart. He earned the rank of Sergeant.
Survivors include his sons, Michael Moore, Vergie L. Moore and Todd Moore; a daughter, Aime Moore; three grandchildren; a sister, Jean Bullock; brothers, Jimmy Moore and his wife, Kitty and Webb Moore and his wife, Peggy, Bobby Moore and his wife, Teresa, Donnie Moore and his wife, Linda, and Delton Moore and his wife, Bobbie Nell.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ulmer Moore.
