Gertrude Everett Walker Gaines
Graveside services for Gertrude Everett Walker Gaines will be held today at 2 p.m. at Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Roy Garrett officiating. A private visitation will be held today. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Gaines, 91, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, in Meridian.
Survivors include daughters, Ouida Walker Arnold, Peggy Gaines Rushing and Faye Gaines Pace, her grandchildren, Donna Brewer, Jeana Jones, Marcia McDonald, Dana Rushing, Richard Pace and Brady Rushing, all of Meridian; her great-grandchildren, Brian Kloss, Rachael Jones, Joseph Boyd, Matthew Rushing, Kellie Rushing, Ricky Pace, Randy Pace and Ronny Pace; great-great-grandchildren, Courtney Pace, Colton Pace, Sidney Pace and Gene Kloss; and a special friend, Olive Meaders.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, R.K. Walker and John Howard Gaines; siblings, Sam Everett, Lewis Everett, Howard Everett, Taylor Green "T.G." Everett, Bobby Everett, Alvin Everett, Lonny Everett, Irby Everett, Emma Philips, Eunice E. Little and Sarah Maude E. Tatum; her parents, Claude Lewis and Mamie Helms Everett; and a grandson, John Michael Rushing.
Memorials may be made to the John Michael Rushing Scholarship at Meridian Community College or a favorite charity.
Retired Major Gertrude Peggy Hall
Retired nurse
Services for Gertrude Peggy Hall will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scott Mason officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Miss Hall, 79, of Meridian, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, at Guardian Angel Hospice. She was a retired nurse and a major in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include her sister, Virgie Young of Meridian; a niece, Patsy Greenlea and her husband, Bob, of Columbia; nephews, Jack Roberts and his wife, Carmolee, of Glendale, Ariz., Joe Roberts and his wife, Betty Joe, of Jackson, Van Hall of Gulfport, Bob Roberts of Baton Rouge, La., Toxie Hall of Mendenhall and Bruce Young and his wife, Laura, of Meridian; great-nieces, Jessica Young, Sarah Young and Leanne Young.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Glynese Frazier
Services for Glynese Frazier will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Church of God at Frazier Grove with the Revs. Fred Frazier and Joey Everett officiating. Burial will be in the Frazier Grove Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Frazier, 62, of Collinsville, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, at Riley Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmie Frazier; sons, Kimble Frazier and Steven Frazier; two daughters, Delores Dallas and Mary Munn, all of Collinsville.
She was preceded in death by a son, Farrell Frazier.
Visitation is today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ivah L. Beck Rainer
Homemaker, seamstress
Services for Ivah L. Beck Rainer will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Center Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Ed Holloman and Irvin Mooney officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Rainer, 99, of Meridian, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, in Meridian. She was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church for 54 years.
Survivors include her children, Virginia Butler, W.M. Rainer Jr. and his wife, Kathleen, and Reida F. Howard and her husband, Michael, all of Meridian, Minnie L. Robinson and her husband, William, of Louisville and Jean L. Sparkes and her husband, Peter A., of Ocean Springs; a brother, Raymond E. Beck and his wife, Ruth, of Ft. Smith, Ark.; a sister, Annie Mae Tucker of San Antonio, Texas; 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.M. Rainer Sr.; her parents, Minnie L. Conner Beck and Willie Beck; a son-in-law, Grady Butler; five brothers, two sisters and a grandson, Mark Swilley.
Memorials may be made to Gideon International Bibles.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home and 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
Richard Madden
Retired mechanic
HATTIESBURG Services for Richard Madden were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Grantham Cemetery.
Mr. Madden, 68, of Hickory, died Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a mechanic for Stribling Company.
Survivors include a son, Ed Madden and his wife, Melinda, of Hickory; a sister, Rachel Yawn of Sumrall; brothers, Lloyd Madden and Arthur Madden, both of Sumrall, and Kenneth Madden of Purvis; and five grandchildren.
Martha W. Wall
Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home of Newton for Martha W. Wall, 57, of Newton, who died Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Delbert H. Braezeale
Arrangements were incomplete at Barham Funeral Home for Delbert H. "Fats" Braezeale, 76, of Meridian, who died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
George Gressett
Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home of Newton for George Gressett, 62, of Chunky, who died, Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
