Man struck by car, killed on Highway 39

Lauderdale County Coroner Marl Cobler said today that officials are investigating the cause of a Saturday night accident that left a Meridian man dead.
Cobler said that Norman Driskill Jr., 27, was pronounced dead at Rush Foundation Hospital shortly before midnight. Cobler said that Driskill apparently was struck by a passing car on Highway 39.
Cobler said the accident happened at the intersection of Highway 39 and Chapel Hill Road. Officers with the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the agency investigating the accident, could not be reached for comment.
