Payne, Pennebaker

Dr. and Mrs. Joel Gillis Payne Jr. of Jackson announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Nell, to Fredrick Adams Pennebaker, son of Lou Adams Pennebaker of Meridian and Mr. and Mrs. Boma Cave Pennebaker of Flowery Branch, Ga.
The wedding will be Saturday, Jan. 25, 2002, at 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Jackson.
Miss Payne is the granddaughter of Mrs. William Orlando Stone and the late Mr. Stone, and Mrs. Joel Gillis Payne and the late Mr. Payne.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Jackson Academy. She was a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Mississippi where she received a bachelor's degree with an emphasis in painting.
While at Ole Miss, she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority, Reformed University Fellowship and the Debutante Club of Mississippi.
Mr. Pennebaker is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Walter Adams Jr. of Meridian; Mrs. Elbert V. Pennebaker of Roopville, Ga., and the late Mr. Pennebaker.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Lamar School and received a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Mississippi.
While at Ole Miss, Mr. Pennebaker was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and Campus Crusade for Christ.
Mr. Pennebaker is employed by Lane Home Furnishings of Tupelo and is currently working in Portland, Ore. The couple will make their home in Portland after the wedding.
