Profile 2003: A Sense of Place'
Medical workers shine in fifth Profile section
Dec. 13, 2002
The staff of The Meridian Star invites you to submit a story to "Profile 2003: A Sense of Place" the third in an award-winning series of reader-written special editions.
Profile 2003 comes out at the end of February, but parts of it will be printed in advance as early as mid-January.
The third section is devoted to the medical community. We went through the photo archives here at the newspaper, and reproduced on page B3 a handful of pictures that show medical professionals and fund-raising volunteers on and off the job.
This section offers readers a perfect opportunity to express their thanks to someone who took good care of them a doctor, nurse, rehabilitation specialist, dietitian, hospice worker, psychiatrist or counselor.
And, don't forget to brag on the volunteers who raise money for medical research with walk-a-thons and bake sales. We would also like to hear from some doctors about what they do with their limited free time.
The deadline for the "Health and Medical" section is Jan. 29. The complete special edition will be published Feb. 27.
Send your submission to: The Meridian Star/Profile 2003; P.O. Box 1591; Meridian MS 39302. Be sure to include your name, phone number and a little biographical information about yourself. Photos submitted with stories may be picked up in March.
