After an absence of four months, "Remember When" returns to AM-1390 WMER this Saturday. The show, produced and hosted by Carl Fitzgerald, will be broadcast from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Fitzgerald said this week's three-hour special will feature the "O.C. Barham Story" as well as a segment called "Growing Up in Meridian," which is a profile of Meridianite Freddie Poitevent Jr.
The show debuted on WMOX, and remained there in until the early 1990s, when the station changed ownership. For a while, the popular radio special was heard on the old WMER, then for two years Fitzgerald aired the show on the former WMGP in Meridian. Fitzgerald said Ken Rainey's FM station in Newton also carried the show for several months.
The holiday weekend show will feature some musical moments of the past in country, gospel and Christmas music and Fitzgerald invites all of his listeners over the past 50 years to tune in.
Pioneer radio personality Noel Adcock will co-host Saturday's show.
