JACKSON AmSouth Bank has hired Chuck Alderman as a business banking officer serving Meridian and Hap Palmer to manage the bank's North Meridian branch.
Alderman previously was a loan officer with Citizens National Bank.
At AmSouth, he will be responsible for business development, analysis of commercial credits and assisting with the day-to-day management of the main branch in Meridian.
Alderman is actively involved with the American Cancer Society and the United Way.
Palmer previously worked in the sales and mortgage market in East Central Mississippi.
At AmSouth, he will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the North Meridian branch as well as developing and maintaining relationships with customers.
Palmer is an officer in the Mississippi Army National Guard and a member of the Daleville United Methodist Church, the UMC Men's Brotherhood and the North Meridian Optimist Club.
AmSouth Bank employs about 1,000 Mississippians; the bank has 73 branches and more than $3 billion in deposits in the state.

Winstead Realty, 4905 Poplar Springs Drive, noon Dec. 3.
Guardian Angel Hospice, 6434 Dale Drive, 2 p.m. Dec. 6.
Citizens Bank of Philadelphia, 1825 Highway 39 North, 3 p.m. Dec. 16.
A second Blockbuster Video store is open for business in Meridian.
The new store is located at 802 Highway 19 North in College Park Shopping Center. A grand opening celebration was held Nov. 15-16.
Meridian's other Blockbuster store is located at 2300 N. Hills St.
Blockbuster opened its first store in 1985. The company, headquartered in Dallas, is a publicly traded subsidiary of Viacom Inc. with more than 8,000 stores and about 89,000 employees throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia.
