Services for Vivian Beatrice Shields will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Chisolm officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Shields, 90, of Meridian, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at King's Daughters and Sons Rest Home. She was a lifetime member of Central Baptist Church, the Eastern Star Grover Burnett Chapter. She was an avid bridge player before entering the nursing home and she was a former member of the Lioness Club.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharlynn Baltzell and her husband, Arthur, of Meridian, Camille Stakes and her husband, Loyd, of Lake Charles, La.; a sister, Marie Simler of Meridian; grandchildren, Gilbert Key of Baton Rouge, La., Debra Brantley of Meridian, Brian Baltzell of Foley, Ala., Brad Baltzell of Springtown, Texas, and Chuck Baltzell of Meridian; and 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie D. Shields; parents, Fred and Allie Williams; brothers, Everet and Fred "Pap" Williams.
Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, Meridian, Ms. or Baptist Children's Village, P.O. Box, 27, of Clinton, MS 39060-9981.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Gilbert Key, Brian Baltzell, Brad Baltzell, Chuck Baltzell and great-grandsons, Todd and Scott Brantley and David Key.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

NEWTON Graveside services for JoAnn Weaver Moreno will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Newton with Gunter &Peel Funeral Home of Columbus in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Moreno, 59, of the Steens community in Lowndes County, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus. She was born on Feb. 27, 1943, in Meridian to the late Leland Marvin Weaver and to Bashia Gary Weaver. She was a graduate of Newton County High School, a member of Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church of Columbus and Poplar Springs Baptist Church of Newton.
Survivors include her husband, Victor Moreno of Steens; two sons, Douglas Robinson of Hattiesburg and Victor Moreno III of Tupelo; a daughter, Pamela Robinson of Columbus; her mother, Bashia Gary Weaver of Trenton, Fla.; a brother, Marvin Weaver of Trenton; and three grandchildren, Abbie Robinson, Amber Robinson and Nicole Robinson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leland Marvin Weaver.
Pallbearers will be Van Lucas, Joe Weaver, Williams Emmonds, Charles Everett, Ryan Weaver and L.C. Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers will be George Harris, Jack Morgan Weaver and Kirk Shaw.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
