Sara Katharine Rea and Hector Gabino Campos were married Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Meridian. Officiating at the 7 p.m. ceremony were the Right Rev. Duncan M. Gray Jr. and the Revs. Elvin Sunds and Edward O'Connor Jr.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edwin Rea of Meridian. and Mr. and Mrs. Jose Gabino Campos of Houston, Texas.
Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. John Gavin Whitehead Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. George Robert Rea Sr., all of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are the late Mr. and Mrs. Agustin M. Arias of Miami, Mrs. Modesto G. Campos of Buffalo, N.Y., and the late Mr. Campos.
Nuptial music was provided David Benson, organist; Sue Shoffiett, flautist; and Raul Maguia, violinist.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore a gown of silk taffeta with an overlay of silk organza with bands of silk satin at the waistline and around the hemline of the A-line skirt. The sleeveless fitted bodice featured a V-back design. She wore a chapel-length Brussels lace veil and carried a bouquet of Virginia roses, freesia, tuberoses and porcelana roses tied with satin ribbon.
Sisters of the bride, Barbara Rea Hebert served as matron of honor and Meredith Anne Rea served as maid of honor, both of Baton Rouge, La.
Bridesmaids were Kristy Dollar Bridgers of Winston-Salem, N.C., Kathryn Crowe Coleman and Karen McDonald Goodman, both of Meridian, Rainey Weidmann Chancellor of Arlington, Va., Leigh Carole Jordan Marshall of Philadelphia and Cecilia Taylor Zahedi of Gulfport.
Flower girl was Kathryn Allise Bridgers of Winston-Salem.
Victor Jose Campos of Atlanta served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Javier Francisco Castro of Arlington, Christopher Frances DeBello of Potomac, Md., Gerald Francis Hendricks and Jim Francis McCue, both of New York, N.Y., and John Robert Rea of Meridian, brother of the bride.
Readers were Jose Gabino Campos, father of the bridegroom, and Leslie Chancellor Hiatt of Meridian.
Acolyte was Dixie Gilbert Pigford. Program attendants were Katherine Graham Pigford and Katie Elizabeth Pigford, all of Meridian.
Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception at Northwood Country Club.
On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Weidmann's.
After a wedding trip to Tambor and Tamarindo, Costa Rico, the couple will reside in Atlanta.
