Hundreds of residents flooded the streets at the four-way stop in Causeyville on Saturday for the community's 15th annual "A Day in the Country."
The full day of entertainment, food and fellowship began at 9 in the morning. The annual event is the Causeyville Volunteer Fire Department's only fund-raiser.
Saturday's festivities included arts and crafts booths, a flea market, live entertainment and plenty of food. The fried chitlins attracted Lois and Austin McCary of Meridian.
McCary, who grew up near Causeyville, said she and her husband attend the event each year for the food and the fellowship.
LaNoyette Smith, fire chief of the Causeyville Volunteer Fire Department, said he was pleased to see the large number of people at the event.
