EUGENE BARFIELD
Retired clerk
Services for Eugene Barfield will be held today at 11 a.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Coates officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Barfield, 77, of Meridian, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at R.P. White Nursing Facility.
Survivors include his stepdaughter, Lucille Tyler of Meridian.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
CHARLIE HUTCHINSON
HOUSTON, Texas Services for Charlie Hutchinson will be today at the Veteran's Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Hutchinson, of Houston, Texas, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, in Houston.
Survivors include his wife, Margie; a son, Charlie Hutchinson Jr.; his mother, Bertha; a brother, Sonny; and stepsons, Jonathan Wilcox and Ryan Schoultz.
HAZEL JOHNSON
Disabled factory worker
UNION Services for Hazel Johnson will be held today at 2 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Shirl Smith officiating. Burial will be in Rock Branch Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson, 66, of Union, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002, at Riley Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Granville Johnson; a daughter, Rena Warren; a son, Robert Ridinger; two sisters, Edna Crocker and Jean Stevens, all of Union; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will begin today at 8 a.m. at the funeral home.
WALTERINE HURTT
Retired Licensed Practical Nurse
Services for Walterine Hurtt will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Union Baptist Church with the Revs. James M. Snowden, James Savell and Mike Vick officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge or arrangements.
Mrs. Hurtt, 88, of Bailey, died Sunday Oct. 27, 2002, at Riley Hospital. She was a retired LPN at East Mississippi State Hospital.
Survivors include her daughters, Carloyn Anderson of Meridian and Doris Smith and her husband, Ralph, of Brookhaven; two sons, James "Sonny" Hurtt and his wife, Rachel, of Meridian and Larry Hurtt and his wife, Joyce, of Bailey; a sister, Syble Neal of Northport, Ala.; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home and 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
TRESSIE BUTLER
Retired dietitian
PHILADELPHIA Services for Tressie Butler will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Duaine Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Butler, 81, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002, in Pascagoula. She was a dietitian at Neshoba Central High School.
Survivors include his daughter, Bobbie Myers of Longview, Texas; a son, Wayne Butler of Gautier; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, R.V. Griffin of Pascagoula, Geneva Wedgeworth of Collinsville, Bonnie Robinson of Philadelphia and Elizabeth McAdory of Noxapater.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
SADIE S. DONALD
GILBERTOWN, Ala. Services for Sadie S. Donald will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Chris Vowell and Clovis Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Gilbertown Cemetery.
Mrs. Donald, 89, of Gilbertown, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, in Gilbertown.
Survivors include her sons, Walter Braxton "Bunk" Donald, Jimmy "Bill" Donald and his wife, Marie, all of Gilbertown, and W.L. Donald and his wife, Irene, of Fairhope, Ala.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Early "Molly" Donald.
Visitation will be today 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
RAY SALTER HILL

DEKALB Services for Ray Salter "Tooney" Hill will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Stokes officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Noxubee County near Macon.
Mr. Hill, 59, of DeKalb, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, in his home.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Hayes Hill; a son, Ray Salter Hill Jr.; a daughter, Tabby Jo Hill, all of DeKalb; a brother, Cary LeCharles Hill of Birmingham, Ala.; sisters, Charlotte Ann Matthews and Mary Florence Rigdon, both of Wahalak; and his father, Cary Salter Hill of Macon.
Visitation will be today 5:30 p.m.-8 p.m. at funeral home.
W.L. CALLAWAY

Graveside services for W.L. "Bill" Callaway will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Bishop officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Callaway, 78, of the Dalewood Community, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002, in his home. He was retired from the telephone company and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Christeen M. "Chris" Callaway of Dalewood; two daughters, Linda DeMarco of Gulfport and Christy Ann Hastings of Dalewood; two granddaughters, Ashley Leigh Pilgrim and her husband, Shawn, of Dalewood and Yvette DeMarco of Gulfport; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn O'Gwen and her husband, Raymond, of Dublin, Ga., and Lora Slay of Mobile, Ala.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Emma Bell Callaway; a brother, Roy Callaway; and a sister, Dot Russell.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
JOHN M. GANDY
HATTIESBURG Graveside services for John M. Gandy will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Gandy Cemetery in Moselle. Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Gandy, 40, of Meridian, formerly of Hattiesburg, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include his sisters, Iris J. Gandy and Lola M. Sampley, both of Hattiesburg; and a brother, Luke J. Gandy of Clarksdale.
RAYMOND ROYAL THOMAS
Graveside services for Raymond Royal Thomas will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Beeson Cemetery with the Rev. Danny Balint officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Thomas, 66, of Meridian, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, in Meridian.
