50th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest West will celebrate their 50th anniversary today. They were married Oct. 11, 1952, in
Tylertown. The couple was honored with a reception at Arrowood Baptist Church. The reception was hosted by their children and grandchildren.
50th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Sam B. Evans celebrated their 50th anniversary Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002, at the News Restaurant. The celebration was hosted by their children and included a surprise renewal of their wedding vows. Mrs. Evans was escorted by her son, Bill Evans, to an ivy covered archway where she joined her husband. Their daughters, Debra Asmus and Patricia Parnell were bridesmaids. The renewing of the vows was performed by the Rev. Hal Bates, pastor of First Baptist Church of Collinsville. Rings were exchanged with Mrs. Evans receiving a three stone anniversary ring and Mr. Evans a Navy ring. Friends and family then joined the couple for cake, punch and pictures
