QUITMAN Graveside services for Morris Russell Jones will be held today at 1 p.m. at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Quitman with the Rev. Russell Luquire officiating. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Jones, 77, of Quitman, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Bettye N. Jones of Quitman; daughters, Marcia Sumrall and her husband, Harold, of Waynesboro, Susan Brewer and her husband, Ches, of Shubuta, Julie Brinkman and her husband, Joe, of Aberdeen, Scotland, and Alice Jefcoat and her husband, Roy, of Hattiesburg; eight grandchildren, Melanie S. Hadley and her husband, Jeremy, Jonathan Sumrall, Beth Brewer, Claire Lynn Brewer, Jamie Brinkman, Lindsey Brinkman, Benjamin Jefcoat, and Madelin Jefcoat; and three great-grandchildren, Dustin, Brandon, and Cameron Hadley.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.
OLGA BAILEY
Operator of Joe Bailey Superette
Services for Olga Bailey will be Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church with the Rev. Elvin Sunds officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Miss Bailey, 87, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002, in her home. She was a lifetime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She operated the former Joe Bailey Superette for more than 55 years. She graduated from the original Catholic School, known as St. Aloysius Academy, now known as St. Patrick Catholic School.
Survivors include her sisters, Lucille Thomas, Dolores Herring and her husband, Cecil, and Marie Bailey, all of Meridian; one brother, Dr. Joseph J. Bailey and his wife, Barbara, of San Diego; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic School, endowment fund, The St. Patrick Catholic Church Building Fund, Harper Hospice or a favorite charity.
Pallbearers will be Joe Godeaux, Bill Ready Sr., Bill Cornish, Bob Garrett, Phillip Maples, Johnny Erben, Joe Erben, Jimmy Creel, and Michael Davis.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
AUDRA VALDEZ SAXON
Homemaker
Services for Audra Valdez Saxon will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. James Ruffin and Thad Moore officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mrs. Saxon, 86, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, at Heartfelt Hospice in Meridian. She was a member of Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church, the Eastern Star, and she was a charter member of the Ben Arthur Davis Garden Club.
Survivors include her son, Joe H. Saxon and his wife, Peachie; a daughter, Sandra S. Mallette and her husband, Bill, four sisters, Rosalie Stephens, all of Meridian, Maudie Ivy of Atlanta, Joyce Thornton of Arlington, Texas and Pat Jones of Meridian; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Greg Mallette, Kenny Mallette, Ray Bible, Jay Johnson, Rick Bell, and Henry Compton.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
JADA REANN JACOBS
GILBERTOWN, Ala. Services for Jada Reann Jacobs will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Heritage Church of God with the Revs. Ryan May and Lester Pope officiating. Burial will be in Womack Hill Cemetery. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Jada, 14, of Talawampa, Ala., died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002, in Mobile,Ala.
Survivors include her father Paul Jacobs; her mother, Lisa Malone Jacobs; brother, Tanner Jacobs; fraternal grandfather, Gerald Jacobs, all of Talawampa, Ala.; fraternal grandmother, Eloise Hall of Waynesboro; maternal grandfather, H.C. Malone Jr. of Lisman, Ala.; fraternal great-grandmother, Ruby Jacobs of Talawampa, Ala.; and maternal great-grandmother, Louise Malone of Meridian.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Shirley Malone.
Visitation will be today 6 p.m.- 9 p.m. at the church.
GLADYS I. SCITZS
Graveside services for Gladys I. Scitzs will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Scitzs, 69, of Collinsville, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.- 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
