The Lauderdale County Circuit Clerk's Office will be open from 8 a.m. to noon today the deadline to register new voters for the Nov. 5 election.
Extended hours are common when a registration deadline nears, but not all counties stay open late and on Saturday.
Johnson said her office mailed 258 voter registration cards Friday and 382 cards Thursday.
The Circuit Clerk's Office stayed open until 7 p.m. Friday to accommodate the large number of people making last-minute registrations or changes to their voter cards.
