LEONARD JAMES GURZENDA
NEWTON Graveside services for Leonard James Gurzenda will be held today at 3 p.m. at Decatur City Cemetery with the Rev. Stan Buckley officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Gurzenda, 58, of Decatur, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. He was a member of Clark Venabel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Jones Gurzenda of Decatur; a son, Kenneth Davidson of Decatur; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be today 1 p.m. 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
DR. H.A. NETHERLAND
Chiropractor
PASCAGOULA Services for Dr. H.A. Netherland will be held today at 7 p.m. at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Brill officiating. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery.
Dr. Netherland, 68, of Escatawpa, formerly of Meridian, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, in Escatawpa.
He was born May 10, 1934, in New Orleans. Dr. Netherland lived in the Jackson County area for the last 36 years after moving from Meridian. He was a member of Four Mile Creek Baptist Church, American Legion Post #160, Elks Lodge #1120 of Pascagoula, Palmer Chiropractic College Association, the Mississippi Chiropractic Association and Colorado Chiropractic Association. He was a sponsor of Ducks Unlimited and a Jackson County Deputy Sheriff.
Dr. Netherland was an asset to the Jackson County area and gave himself unselfishly for the past 36 years. He will be remembered by all who loved him.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Netherland of Meridian; the mother of his children, Shelie B. Netherland of Houston, Texas; two sons, Paul Netherland of Semmes, Ala., and Mike Netherland of Houston; a brother, David Netherland and his wife, Jennie of Quitman; a sister, Norma Simmons and her husband, Joe, of York, Ala.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry F. Netherland; and a brother, Wayne Netherland.
Pallbearers will be Bill Hover, Ted Aycock, Bobby Mathieu, Dr. David Turner, Leroy Dozier, Mickey Walley and Jimmy Patrick.
Visitation will be today 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
TOMMY E. ROSE
Founder of Rose Mobile Homes
NEWTON Services for Tommy E. Rose will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Newton with the Revs. Dr. Frank Harmon, Dr. Leroy Brewer and John Jacob officiating. Burial will be in Newton County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Rose, 60, of Hickory, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2002, in Reno, Nev. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Newton and was the owner of Top Flight Aviation and Roseland Company. He was retired from the Mississippi Air National Guard. He was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and Mississippi College where he earned his law degree.
He was a founding member of Cessna 180-185 Club and the former president of Mississippi Manufactured Housing Association. He was a member of the Sport Class Racing Association of Reno and participated in the Inaugural Sport Class Race in Reno in 1998.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Rose of Hickory; four sons, Tom Rose and his wife, Julie, of Hickory, Tim Rose and his wife, Shonda, of Hickory, Clay Rose and his wife, Sonji, of Little Rock and John Pace of Hickory; his father, Elmer Rose of Decatur; a sister, Ruth Ann Caples of Meridian; a brother, George Rose of Hickory; and grandchildren, Piper, Blake, Blain and Braxton Rose.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Rose; and a sister, Ellie Jo Brady.
Memorials may be made to the Restoration Ranch, 10309 McCraw Rd., Meridian, MS 39307.
Visitation will be Wednesday 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
