Meridian native takes command

U.S. Navy Capt. Mary F. Gleason recently took over as commander of the Naval Reserve Unit in Washington.
Before taking the job, Gleason worked with the Inspector General of the Navy in Washington. In her last two positions, with the Inspector General and the Naval Reserve in New Orleans, she received the Legion of Merit Award.
Gleason, 52, is a Meridian native and a graduate of Meridian High School and the University of Southern Mississippi. She is the daughter of David C. Gleason and the late Mary Francis Gleason.
