Meridian Invitational set for NE Park Saturday

This week's softball action will be capped by one of the area's annual biggest tournaments the Meridian High School Invitational.
The MHS tournament is set for Saturday at Northeast Park. Area teams participating include Meridian, Choctaw Central, Northeast Lauderdale, Southeast Lauderdale, and West Lauderdale.
In today's games, Union hosts Choctaw Central at 7 p.m., Bay Springs goes to Morton, and Noxapater visits Louisville for a 5 p.m. contest.
In fast-pitch action today, Leake Academy travels to Simpson Academy for a 4 p.m. contest.
Tuesday's action finds Enterprise hosting Newton County at 7 p.m., Southeast Lauderdale hosting Meridian at 7 p.m., Neshoba Central hosting Philadelphia at 6 p.m., and Northeast Lauderdale hosting Laurel at 6 p.m.
Thursday's games have Neshoba Central hosting Union in a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m., Southeast Lauderdale hosts Newton County at 7 p.m., Northeast Lauderdale goes to Northeast Jones for a 6 p.m. game, Choctaw Central hosts Noxapater in a 5 p.m. doubleheader, and Bay Springs hosts South Leake at 5 p.m.
In fast-pitch action, Leake Academy hosts Manchester.
On Friday, Northeast Lauderdale hosts West Lauderdale at 7 p.m. In other games, Choctaw Central hosts Philadelphia at 5 p.m., Enterprise hosts Southeast Lauderdale at 7 p.m., and Newton County hosts Neshoba Central at 7 p.m.
Clarkdale will play in the Kossuth Tournament, Friday-Saturday. Newton and Noxapater will compete in the Morton Tournament, Friday-Saturday.
In Saturday's games, Enterprise will play in the Stringer Tournament.
