The result was the same in both games at Clarkdale on Saturday but the games couldn't have been any different.
Clarkdale beat Clinton 22-0 in the first game of a softball doubleheader, but then barely escaped with a 5-4 extra-inning win in the second game.
With the wins, the Lady Bulldogs move to 2-1 on the season.

Clinton 0
Clarkdale exploded for 14 runs in the second inning and overpowered Clinton to take a 22-0 win in the first game.
Every batter in the lineup scored a run in the big inning that blew the game open.
The Lady Bulldogs led 2-0 after the first inning. JorD'an Orr led off the bottom of the first with a single and moved to third when Megan Potate reached on an error. Orr scored when a line drive by Emily Howard deflected off a fielder's glove and carried into the outfield. Potate scored on an infield single by Sabrina Woodall.
The second inning was when Clarkdale really got the bats cranked. Brandi Wright led the inning off with a single. Lyndsey Dawkins followed with a single. Savannah Satcher hit a fly ball to right that dropped in over the outfielder and allowed a run to score to make the score 3-0.
Orr grounded out to bring in another run. Potate followed with an infield single to bring in Satcher and make the score 5-0. Howard and Woodall followed with singles to load the bases. Kaylea Thrash brought in a run with a single. Alyssa Bye followed with a single to knock in two more runs. Brandi Limerick singled and an error on the play allowed a run to score. Wright brought in a run with a ground out and another run scored when Dawkins reached on an error to make the score 11-0.
Satcher singled and Orr knocked in a run and reached on a fielder's choice. Potate, Howard, Woodall, Thrash and Bye followed with singles and finally the third out was recorded with the score 16-0.
The Lady Bulldogs scored six more in the third inning and easily took the win 22-0 when the game was called because of the run-rule a half inning later.

Clinton played like a totally different team in the second game and led all the way until the bottom of the seventh inning.
The Lady Bulldogs tied the game up with two outs in the seventh inning on a single by Bye and scored in the bottom of the eighth to take the come-from-behind win 5-4.
Clinton jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning of the game. Deshia Brandon doubled with one out in the inning and scored on a double by Brooke Bradley. Bradley later scored on a single by Spann. An error allowed Spann to score later in the inning to make the score 3-0.
Clarkdale scored a run in the first inning to cut into the lead. Potate singled to get on base. Woodall singled and Thrash followed with a two-out single to bring in Potate and make the score 3-1.
Clarkdale scored a run in the third to get within one run when Howard doubled and scored on a fielder's choice by Thrash, but Clinton answered with a run in the top of the fifth to again stretch the lead to two runs.
The Lady Bulldogs cut the lead 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth when Orr singled and later scored on a single by Woodall, but could not score another run in the inning as Clinton threw out a runner at home to keep the one-run lead.
Clarkdale finally tied the game up in the seventh. Potate led off the inning with a single and Howard followed with a fielder's choice. A wild throw to second on a groundball allowed the Clarkdale to have runners at first and second with one out. After a lineout gave Clinton two outs, Bye came through with a clutch hit to tie the game 4-4.
In the extra frame, Clinton got two quick outs on Clarkdale but could not get the final one. Satcher and Orr singled to get into scoring position. Potate came through with a hit to right and beat out the bad throw to first while Satcher came around to score the winning run.
The Lady Bulldogs will be in action again when they travel to play in a tournament at Kossuth on Friday and Saturday.
