Righteous Oaks: A refuge for recovery

By By Steve Gillespie / staff writer
August 17, 2002
After serving time in jail, he entered the Righteous Oaks Recovery Center program.
Fanning has been at Righteous Oaks for four months.
He plans to build a boat that he will live on when he goes home and he said he will call it "Righteous."
David Mock, staff director of Righteous Oaks, defines the center as God's refuge for men and he said God gets all the credit for their recovery.
Although the center is strictly for men, Mock said plans call for starting a women's ministry one day.
Dwight Brewer, 53, has been in the six-month program for only two weeks, but he said Friday that it has already been beneficial.
He said he feels safe and comfortable and that he is learning about the Bible, Christ, team work and helping others.
