    Retired
    Services for Estelle E. Long will be held today at 3 p.m. at Jones Chapel Church of God with the Rev. Ron Leonard officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Long, 84, of Meridian, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at Guardian Angel Hospice. She was a retired floral designer for Rogers Florist.
    Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca L. Thomas and a granddaughter, Belinda T. Bester and her husband, Joe, all of Meridian; grandsons, Brian K. Thomas and his wife, Lisa, of Shreveport,La., and Jamie Thomas and his wife, Diann, of Meridian; and three great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a sister, Polly Weekley of Gulfport.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, C.P. "Red" Long.
    Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

    PHILADELPHIA Services for Jim E. Henson will be held today at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Dr. Dan Howard and John Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Mars Hill Cemetery in Neshoba County. McClain-Hays Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Henson, 39, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian.
    Survivors include his wife, Phoebe Gray Henson of Philadelphia; two daughters, Amelia Ruth Henson and Zoie Lynne Henson, both of Philadelphia; his father, Harvey N. Henson of DeKalb; and two brothers, Wayne Henson of Quitman and Bob Henson of Philadelphia.
    ALGENE LAMAR TINSLEY

    Services for Algene Lamar Tinsley will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Null officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
    Mr. Tinsley, 82, of the Damascus Community, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson. He was retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture after more than 35 years. He was a native of the Damascus Community and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Air Force 48th Fighter Squadron.
    Survivors include his wife, Renie Lewis Tinsley; a daughter, Doretta Tinsley Ocampo, both of the Damascus Community; sons, Ricky Tinsley and his wife, Deborah, of Mira Loma, Calif., Billy Tinsley of the Damascus Community and Johnny Tinsley of Bailey; nine grandchildren, Joshua, Charla and Jacob Tinsley, Tanya, Jessica and Shawna Ocampo, Jeremy, Jason and Amber Tinsley; six great-grandchildren, Kylah Hope, Mariana, and Detra Ocampo, Brandon Tinsley and Eleiana Tinsley and Mia Hope Ocampo; a sister, Blanche Mozella Tinsley Gunter of Meridian.
    Pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephews.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

    QUITMAN Services for G.F. "Sporty" Dabbs Jr. will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Dabbs, 85, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. He was born and raised in Clarke County. He went to Copiah Lincoln for two years and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1939, where he played football and was chosen Mr. USM. He later served as president of the Alumni Association and was inducted into both the Alumni and Sports Hall of Fame. After teaching for two years he served in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant Junior Grade in World War II. He later attended law school at the University of Mississippi, moved to Quitman and practiced law with Riddell &Dabbs for many years.
    Survivors include his wife, Sarah Joe; two sons, Gilford Dabbs III and his wife, Ruth of Quitman and Kelly Dabbs and his wife, Debbye, of Madison; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers; and a sister.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
    Memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church of Quitman Renovation Fund.
    Visitation will be held today from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
    BONNIE ANN STEWART
    Services for Bonnie Ann Stewart will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Wells officiating. Burial will be in the Stewart Family Cemetery.
    Mrs. Stewart, 57, of Meridian, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at her home.
    Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Sherry Stewart of Meridian; two grandsons, Steven Stewart and Johnny Stewart, both of Meridian; a step-granddaughter, Heather Anders of Meridian; her former husband, John Stewart, of Meridian; three sisters, Jean Doughtery of Dresden, Tenn., Bonnie Brown and Tammy Thompson, both of Martin, Tenn.; and her mother, Mable Hutchinson of Dresden.
    Pallbearers will be Joey Miller, Carl McDonald Jr., William McDonald, Eddie Hyde, Frank Hyde Jr., Jessie Keaton, Roger Keaton and Roy Stewart.
    Visitation will be from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    BARBARA ANN PEARSON WADDELL
    WARRIOR, Ala. Services for Barbara Ann Pearson Waddell will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Kimberly First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Creel officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Minter Cemetery in Morris. Messmer-Goodwin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Waddell, 45, of Kimberly, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002.
    Survivors include her husband, Cecil Waddell of Kimberly; a daughter, Elizabeth Palmer and her husband, Jamie, of Warrior; a son, Wayne Waddell and his wife, Mary, of Cullman; a step son, Allen Waddell and his wife, Penny, of Morris; a brother, Curtis Radcliffe of Toomsuba, Miss.; a sister, Amy Renee Luke of Lauderdale, Miss.; two granddaughters, Madison Leighann Palmer and Brittney Shea Waddell; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.
    Visitation will be held today from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Jewel Hood, 79, of Meridian, who died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at Benchmark Health Care Center.
